His journey began in the paddocks of the World Championship at the end of the 1980s and grew within the Aprilia Racing environment of the 1990s, working alongside Jan Witteveen during one of the most innovative eras of the 125cc, 250cc, 500cc and Superbike classes. Those years shaped his understanding of technical organisation and project management in motorsport.
In the early 2000s, his path continued in MotoGP, following the evolution of the category and the arrival of Bridgestone as a factory tyre manufacturer. He was part of several meaningful moments of that period, including Makoto Tamada’s first MotoGP victory and the partnership that brought Konica Minolta into the premier class through the JiR team.
In the 2020s, in collaboration with Yamaha, he consolidated an entrepreneurial model centred on providing motorcycle fleets, technical resources, logistics and specialised personnel, turning JiR into a practical, reliable operational platform used in various international programmes. Today he oversees the operational side of the FIM Yamaha R3 BLU CRU World Cup, ensuring the fleet, equipment and support required for each event. The same structure also serves institutional projects such as the Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship and the FIM Intercontinental Games, supplying motorcycles, equipment and on-track support.
From Monte Carlo, Montiron guides JiR as a hub for development, training and operational coordination in motorcycle racing.
Looking ahead, this approach is naturally extending into the automotive field — another long-standing passion now becoming part of JiR’s future.
A path built season after season, shaped by experience and by the ability to turn ideas into concrete, working platforms.
